Pagham Harbour

We heard about the sighting of the Purple Heron at breech pool at Pagham harbour and we had to see it for ourselves. on our way to Breech pool we walked past the north wall where we saw Cattle Egret, Little Egret, Grey Heron, Red Kite, Marsh Harrier and a single Peregrine Falcon. When we got to Breech pool a group of Birders told us that the Purple Heron was seen this morning at 8:30 and it never usually comes out between then and 6 pm and only shows itself ay morning and evening. After learning this we lost a bit of confidence of seeing this bird, as we live quite far away and we didn’t have much time. Lucky for us after 25 minutes of waiting there the Purple Heron weirdly flew from the south west which was the other side of the Breech Pool where it is usually seen. It flew over our heads and we were lucky to get a few decent shots before it landed back in the reeds in Breech Pool.
