Pulborough Brooks
Today we took a trip to Pulborough Brooks to see if one or two White Tailed Eagle would show up. After we got there we started making our way down to West Mead hide (the first hide) when we encountered a Grey Wagtail on the path, it stayed there for a good 30 seconds before it flew off. After we got to the hide Graham (a volunteer) showed us a Greenshank and 4 Little Ringed Plover, two of them where showing well but the other two weren’t. As well as this there where Grey Heron, Little Egret, Canada Goose, Swift, House Martin, Sand Martin and Barn Swallow showing well in front of the hide. After one and a half hours Cattle Egret, Hobby and Buzzard were showing up in the distance. After 2 hours in the hide we left and headed to Winpenny hide (the second hide on the reserve) where we saw the exact same things. We waited half an hour when a volunteer in this hide got a message saying a White Tailed Eagle was heading right to our location and was seen flying from the other side of the reserve, so they told us and we waited, only after 2 minutes a massive bird of prey soared over the hide and proceeded to land on the ground in the distance out of site.
